The Loch Raven Business Association (LRBA):
  • Was established by area business owners and managers in 1994.
  • Represents member businesses through advocacy to government officials, cooperative actions with community and promotional activities.
  • Focuses on improving the area inside the Beltway (North) City Line (South) Perring Parkway (East) Goucher Blvd. (West).

LRBA has established close ties with the Loch Raven residential communities, organizations and institutions that have resulted in a powerful coalition of interested citizens that speaks loudly in support of the Loch Raven area.

LRBA pursues publicity and promotions to increase awareness of the products and services of our members and to enhance the spirit of community in the entire Loch Raven area.

  • Partnered in 1996 with the Loch Raven Kiwanis and the Loch Raven Community Council to sponsor the annual Fourth of July fireworks and community picnic.
  • Partnered in June 1998 with the seventeen Loch Raven area community associations, schools, churches and other organizations for the Celebration of Loch Raven" in conjunction with the Loch Raven Library reopening.
  • Distributes promotional materials from member businesses to community associations in welcome bags for new residents of Loch Raven.
  • Coordinates Santa visits to members and community events.
  • Actively supports the Police Athletic League, the Library. neighborhood projects and Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Hillendale.

LRBA acts as a catalyst to obtain public improvements, encourage private investment and stimulate economic growth.

  • Initiated the Loch Raven Corridor Enhancement Project scheduled to bring $5 Million of improvements in pedestrian friendly walkways, streetscaping. lighting and roadway.
  • LRBA spearheaded the effort to establish Loch Raven as one of the twelve designated Commercial Revitalization Districts in Baltimore County to bring the benefits of:
  • Architectural design assistance
  • Business improvement loans with 3% interest rates for exterior and property improvements
  • Small Business Loans with below market rates for real estate. Fixed asset and working capital
  • Commercial Revitalization Tax Credit allows property tax credit against increased real property taxes that result from physical improvements
  • The Neighborhood Business Development Program provides gap financing for predevelopment, development and start up operating costs.

LRBA opens lines of communication

  • Newsletters, networking and customer referrals with other businesses and the community.
  • Information on development, laws and regulations that can affect your business.
  • Relates opinions and concerns to government officials.
  • Addresses topics of interest at monthly meetings.
  • Works with Baltimore County Police to provide crime updates and prevention information

LRBA is a volunteer driven organization.

  • Membership is open to every business. professional, commercial property owner, organization and institution.
  • Participation in committees or short term projects is encouraged and open to all members.
  • You can help shape the future with ideas, time, talent, programs or plans.
  • Monthly meetings are open to anyone interested in making Loch Raven a more exciting and attractive place to live, work, shop or visit.
