About Loch Raven Village

Construction

The brick Georgian colonial townhomes are spacious -- inside groups 20 ft. x 30 ft., and end homes 24 ft. x 30 ft. with one or two wood burning fireplaces.  Foundations are concrete block, and the interior walls are made of plaster.  The square footage is greater than many individual homes of comparable price.  Village streets are wide, allowing for ample parking and easy traffic flow.

Property values have remained high due in part to restrictive covenants imposed on the Village by the developer to insure a uniformly attractive appearance and to control professional activity.

According to a recent neighborhood survey, 43% of the residents have lived in Loch Raven Village for a least 21 years and another for more than 10 years.

Convenience

The Village is ideally located in north central Baltimore County, east Towson.  The interchange of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) is a short drive to the north, and routes I-95 and I-83 are just a 6-mile drive.  Park and Rides are available at Cromwell Bridge Road and at Providence Road and I-695, just 1 and 3 miles from Loch Raven Village, respectively.

Shopping

The Village is convenient to shopping. Loch Raven Village borders Towson Marketplace, which under new ownership is planning extensive renovations.  The popular Towson Town Center, one of the largest shopping malls in the region, is 2 miles away.  The Loch Raven/Taylor Avenue intersection has four shopping centers containing a wide variety of grocery and specialty stores. Stores on Loch Raven Blvd and Joppa Rd offer many products and services.

Churches

Churches of many denominations line Loch Raven Boulevard or are near to the Village.

Schools

The Village encompasses or is within walking distance to many public, private, and parochial schools covering preschool through high school, including:  Pleasant Plains Elementary School, Cromwell Valley Elementary Regional magnet School of Technology, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Loch Raven Technological Academy for Environmental Science, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts (formerly Loch Raven Middle School), Carver Center for Arts and Technology (High School),   Calvert Hall College (High School) and Loch Raven High School.

Towson University and Goucher College are about 5 minutes from the Village.

Playgrounds

Well-equipped neighborhood playgrounds are located at Pleasant Plains Elementary and the former Loch Raven Elementary schools.

Regional Park

The 367-acre Cromwell Valley regional park, a woodland site with abundant wildlife, is within 2 miles of the Village.
